My daughter came home with an assignment from school to make something out of recycled materials. We searched online to get some ideas and my daughter found a picture of a homemade gumball machine and went straight to work. We found a small box, leftover wallpaper, toilet rolls and a big plastic bottle from our recycling bin. We took some ideas from the website where we found the picture but my daughter used her own ideas to build most of the machine. Then, we filled it up with gumballs and tested it out many times to fine-tune it. Needless to say, it was a huge hit at school. All her friends wanted to try the machine and get a gumball. The teacher was so impressed she showed it to the principle. It's come in handy at home, as well. I use it to reward them for doing their homework, doing chores and good behavior.

娘が学校でリサイクル材料の工作の宿題がでました。 オンラインでアイデアを検索した結果、娘が自家製ガムガチャマシーンを見つけてそれを作ることにしました。 家にあった小型の段ボール箱、シール型の壁紙、トイレットペーパーの芯、大きいペットボトルを使って作りました。 オンラインで見つけたガムガチャマシーンからアイデアを貰ったものの、中身の構想は娘が考えて作りました。 一旦作ってからは思うようにガムボールが落ちてくるように何回も微調整しました。 学校では大反響でした。教室のお友達はみんなガムガチャマシーンを使いたがり、校長先生にもお見せしたそうです。 家でも意外と重宝しており、宿題をしたり、お利口さんだった時のご褒美として使っています。
