Last month I talked about my children being picky eaters. But there's nothing in the world they like to eat more than pizza. Of course, it's plain pizza with just cheese on top. New York style. Friday is "pizza and movie night." After a long week at school and work, we celebrate our hard work with pizza for dinner and a family-friendly movie afterward, sometimes even with homemade popcorn. The kids look forward to Fridays and because they know Friday is pizza night so they don't ask for it on other nights. And, they also know that the only time they get to watch a movie on daddy's “big TV” is on Friday nights so they don't feel bad that they can't watch TV on the big screen all the time, either. It makes pizza and movies extra special, and as a family, we will always remember our family tradition of spending time together on Friday evenings with a slice of New York pizza and a movie. 先月は子供たちの好き嫌いについて書きましたが、世界で何よりも好きな食べ物は間違いなくピザです。 トッピング無しのチーズピザ、ニューヨークピザです。 我々の家では長い１週間の終わりを祝って、金曜日は必ず「ピザ＆ムービーナイト」になっています。 仕事と学校で頑張ったご褒美に晩飯はピザ、お食事が終わったら家族で映画を観ます。 特別にポップコーンも作ってあげたりすることも。 金曜日はピザが食べられるため、子供たちは毎週金曜日を待ち遠しく、楽しみにしています。 ピザは金曜日に食べるので金曜日以外の夜にピザが出ることがないことを知っています。 又、映画はパパの「大きいテレビ」で見れるという特典付きです。 普段は別の部屋にある小さいテレビでしか見れないのが金曜日は大きいテレビで見れるのは、ある意味、家で映画館に行く感覚で子供たちは大はしゃぎです。 でも、指定された日程と理由があるからこそ特別感があります。 子供たちが大きくなって家を離れても金曜日は一緒にピザを食べて、映画を観た思い出をいつまでも忘れないでほしいと思います。
